While the mandate of 2110’s library includes research help, archival, and resource sharing, we also take the history of libraries in fighting for civil liberties seriously. The library does not just exist to organize information, but to let users contribute knowledge to their collection, as a form of community building. The library strives to enter into dialogue with the community it serves by way of a steering committee, organization of user’s knowledge and skills through a zine library and non-book format print resource collection, and by being transparent, accountable, and responsive to the changing needs of users. Events in the 2110 library/lounge space provide opportunities for discussion, networking, skill sharing, and community building.
Our ever-expanding collection ranges from science fiction to biography to health information, as well as a zine collection, a media collection, and a children’s library. Anyone is welcome to take out resources or sit in the lounge and hang out.
The library is currently looking for volunteers to sit on a steering committee, help with book buying, planning events, fundraising, and administrative support.

HEY THERE FAITHFUL LITERARY AFFICIONAD@S & ANTI-O LIBRARY QUEENS!
We are always in the process of expanding our library and resource centre, and we very much appreciate the input of those folks who are a
part of the 2110 community, as you are the ones who have access to these
books & stand to benefit from this amazing thing.
So we ask you:
+what titles do you wish the 2110 library would have on its shelves?
+have you read something in the past that you think belongs in an
anti-oppression library?
+is there a book you have been lusting for a chance to read, but don’t want
to/can’t get for your own bookshelf?
PLEASE NOTE that we are particularly looking for books that speak to the
campaigns and projects currently going on at the 2110 centre. Works
that speak to
+reproductive autonomy/bodily self-determination
+access/migrant justice/queer & trans identities & lived realities
+indigeneity/first-nations communities & self-determinism/indigenous
solidarity/anti-colonialism
+anti-apartheid in Israel & beyond
More information about the campaigns at the 2110 centre can be found at

We are looking for titles in English and French, as well as other languages.
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO MAKE A LIST OF BOOKS & ZINES YOU WISH TO SEE
AT THE 2110! THERE IS NO LIMIT TO THE NUMBER OF TITLES YOU CAN
RECOMMEND!
Stay tuned for an excel list of titles we’re thinking of, either to inspire you,
or, if it’s more your style, to let you chime in on your favourites from a
list.
PART 2:
We are also looking for beautiful & smart zines, which are publications
produced independently and not usually available in bookstores or online.
If you have a zine that you think should be made available at the 2110,
please photocopy it and bring it by/mail it to the centre at
2110 Centre for Gender Advocacy c/o Concordia University
1455 de Maisonneuve Ouest- Annex v-01
Montreal, Quebec H3G 1M8
OR bring it by during opening hours (Monday-Tuesday from 12-5pm,
Wednesday-Thursday from 12-6pm) & let us make a copy. We are developing a
sweet little appreciation gift to acknowledge the community participation in
the development of our library… details to come soon!
PART 3:
If you have a book or zine that you have read or feel that you are done
with/that it belongs on a community library shelf where it will get love &
attention/etc, please bring it by the centre! The sweet little appreciation
gift thing applies to part 3 as well.
