The Centre for Gender Advocacy (CGA) is a trans*1 positive centre! We take a harm-reductive approach that respects the right of individuals to make the decisions that are best for them. We advocate for equal access for all trans* people to healthcare, housing, employment and community. It’s a message that we work to convey to both government and society at large.
Trans* people often face serious barriers to accessing healthcare. We need allies in the healthcare sector! The CGA offers is happy to share information and conduct workshops for healthcare workers. Contact psa[at]centre2110.org or 514-848-2424 x7431 for more information or to schedule a workshop.
Use of preferred name at Concordia
Trans* students at Concordia can request to have their name of common usage replace their legal name on student I.D., letters from the registrar, roll calls, student lists, exam lists, moodle website and student record. Upon request, the gender marker will also be removed thus avoiding gendered greetings. The process to change this information is quick and painless! Email registrar Terry Too at Terry.Too[at]concordia.ca to get the process started.
